Phoebe Gold is an alumna of our BA Songwriting degree and Higher Diploma now making waves within the industry as a fast-rising artist manager.

Initially cutting her teeth hosting various events with friends in and around London, since leaving ICMP, Phoebe has launched her own Up Close Management business.

Her roster of clients includes some of the hottest new music industry talent including PinkPantheress, winner of the acclaimed BBC Sound of 2022 award

This 20 year old artist’s breakout hit, ‘Just For Me’, went from TikTok sensation to the UK top 40 hit in the summer with Coldplay deciding to cover it in Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

In 2021, Phoebe was also selected as one of the awardees of the Music Managers Forum (MMF) Accelerator Programme

In an interview with MMF, commenting on her hopes for the future of the industry, Phoebe said

More women at the top. More women managers. In my mind, it makes the most sense for artists to be managed by people who can relate to them. I’d love for there to be a new generation of young Black female managers; it’s our time."

Phoebe also manages other up and coming artists including the likes of tendai, producer/DJ Tommy Gold (Bone Soda, NTS), and independent Bay Area-based artist kezia.

According to the MMF, the Accelerator Programme aims to recognise the increasingly important role of music managers in financing, developing and facilitating artist careers.

The programme provides both financial and educational support. This includes 12-month grants of up to £15,000, alongside expert-led professional development training.
