Events
Events are a key part of student life at the Institute. As well as relaxing,
socialising andmeeting new friends, our events provide students with
opportunities for further learning, development and networking.
The Events Teamworks with key London live music venues to ensure
our students experience a fulfilling programme of activities to get
involved in alongside their studies.
Students start their year with a jam-packed schedule of events for
Freshers’, including a dedicated Freshers’Day with competitions,
giveaways and interactive sessions. Throughout the year, there are
regular masterclasses, live events and social opportunities for students
to get involved in. Every academic year finishes with a range of End of
Year Showcases to display students’musical skills to industry insiders
and the public alike. On completion of their course, all students are
invited to celebrate their achievements at the Institute's renowned
Graduation event which has previously been held at famous London
venues including the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the Queen Elizabeth
Hall, Southbank and the prestigious MermaidTheatre.
ENTSTeam
In 2014, the Institute introduced an ENTS Team, headed by a Social
Secretary. This team is comprised of representatives from each
course and works with the Events Team to influence the events held
for students. They also assist with event organisation and promotion
and the development of the student community.
Songwriters’Circle
Based on the original Nashville model, songwriters take to the stage,
perform their songs and share the stories behind them.
Bandeoke
Students can pick whichever part they like—guitar, bass, drums
or vocals and performwith our talented in-house band.
JamNights
These are an opportunity for students to get together and share ideas,
try out new songs and receive feedback andmusical suggestions from
fellow students, or simply to improvise covers of their favourite classic
tracks. Special editions see tutors leading the night so students can
get up on stage and play with themoutside of the classroom.
Tutor Showcases
A chance for students to witness the Institute’s tutors in action on stage.
Festivals
We get involved in local festivals to give students the chance to raise their
profile in the local area and the wider London area as well as supporting
the local community. In 2014 we took a stage at the sold out Camden
Rocks Festival, with a line up of 10 bands comprising current students,
and alumni along with one act from an international partner school.
