The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance is an independent
education provider with extensive experience of delivering high-
quality courses for musicians, songwriters and aspiring
entrepreneurs. We pride ourselves on our individual teaching
methods and we ensure all of our courses are student focused
and student driven.
Our world-class teaching faculty, all of whom are actively involved
in the music business, as educators, professional musicians, creative
artists, or all three, is unrivalled in the UK. We are constantly
transforming our curriculum in order to ensure all our courses
are innovative and forward thinking and we continually invest in
cutting-edge equipment and technology to support our students’
learning experience.
Being in London, at the heart of the global music community allows
Institute students the opportunity to perform at a wide range of gigs
and showcase events in some of London’s top venues. These events
provide students with the perfect opportunity to build networks
and connections with the industry’s most influential professionals.
We also facilitate a wide range of masterclasses and clinics with
some of the world’s best musicians and industry executives
allowing students the chance to get up-close and personal with
some of music’s finest.
We encourage and support originality and creativity and aim to
nurture and develop each of our student’s own unique musical
voices. Withmany of our students coming from all over the world,
we encourage an international atmosphere and inspire all of our
students to learn from the multi-cultural atmosphere that can be
found at the Institute.
During their time here our students acquire the techniques to express
themselves, the tools to survive and grow in the industry and the
confidence to continually succeed as their careers develop.
Our courses integrate a range of transferable skills and knowledge
that will help support our students in their lives within the
music industry.
We have a dedicated careers and industry support network devoted
to facilitating opportunities aimed at helping them to grow into their
career within the music industry. We encourage students to explore
opportunities for composing original music for games, phones, TV,
film, web and we give our students various opportunities to work
with our creative partners in fashion, theatre, exhibitions, media
and animation.
