PopularMusicPerformance
The BMus (Hons) degree is for students who aspire to reach a
professional standard of musicianship and build a career in today's
music industry. The programme is designed to provide capable,
hardworking, creative, collaborative students with the necessary
skill-set, experiences and attitude to succeed at the highest levels
of the music profession.
This programme will provide you with the professional playing,
performing andmusicianship skills as well as the tools and knowledge
required to develop and sustain a career in today's modern and diverse
music industry.
The study of established genres, ‘styles’and repertoire sits at the core of
the BMus. Students develop a wide and comprehensive understanding
of genre conventions through study on their principal instrument, with
the intention of enabling them to function in a variety of professional
performance andmusic-making contexts upon entry into
the workplace.

performance, technique, theory and practice, music technology,
stylistic awareness, collaboration, popular music history, songwriting,
keyboard, percussion, and backing vocals.

Students will further develop the core skills they gained in the
first year of study. Additionally, students will develop their ability
to control and present musical material for ensemble performance.

which focus on business and economic aspects of the modern
