The Higher National Certificate in Music Performance Level 4
provides musicians with the skills they need to progress into
a range of careers in the music industry and helps them gain
the qualifications they need to enter full-time degree study.
Students are given the opportunity to develop their knowledge
and understanding of music performance, technology and the
current music industry whilst focussing on varying musical styles.
The HNC in Music Performance is an intensive one-year course
that will enable musicians to develop their performance ability
and musical vocabulary in a fast paced and rigorous environment.
The HNC is taught by industry professionals and experienced tutors
at the Institute’s world class teaching facility in the heart of the
music industry; London.
During the course students will focus on the following—
The development of career-specific music skills and knowledge
Enhanced live music performance techniques
Understanding the professional music environment
How to network and communicate with others in the
music industry
How to control and develop specific music projects as an
individual and as part of a group
Engage with creativity and innovation inmusic creation
and performance
Learn enhanced instrument-specific techniques and how
to contextualise in a performance setting
Taking control of each environment; including writing,
rehearsing & performing
