Institute Scholarship Awards


 

All 2012 scholarships are now closed. The winner of the Shure songwriting award will be chosen by Anna Calvi and announced on 18th May 2012. 

At the Institute, we are fully committed to ensuring that as wide a range of students as possible are able to access our courses, regardless of their financial, social or cultural circumstances. We are also an equal access institution and believe in supporting, guiding and assisting deserving students in their studies. To this end, we have developed a series of awards, scholarships, bursaries and support activities to enable access to our courses. Many of these awards are supported by our industry partners, whose support in this regard is second to none.

The Steve Vai Scholarship


The next Steve Vai Scholarship competition will launch in late 2012. Please check back then for more information on applying.

 

This exclusive scholarship has been developed to support deserving students in pursuing a career in music and developing their craft. The award is for one fully funded place (worth over £5,000) and one partially funded place (worth over £2,500) on the Institute's renowned one year full-time Higher Diploma Guitar course commencing in October 2012.

Shure Songwriting Award, supported by BMI

Voting has now closed!. The winner will be chosen by Anna Calvi and announced on 18th May 2012.


The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, Shure and BMI have created and fantastic award scheme to support talented songwriters. This award has been previously supported by Amy McDonald, K.T. Tunstall, Paloma Faith and Everything Everything. This year's award is to be supported by another music artist to be confirmed. The award is for one fully funded place (worth over £5,000) on the Institute's renowned one year full-time Cert HE in Songwriting course commencing in October 2012

The Benevolent Fund


The Institute and the Musicians Benevolent Fund have recently developed the Musicians Benevolent Fund Scholarship, which awards one deserving student a fully funded place on an Institute course.  As part of the Scholarship, the recipient will also be given the opportunity to complete their work experience with the Fund and will perform at fundraising events. Details for the 2012 award will be announced later in the year.
